The Government of Saskatchewan has proclaimed November 22 to 26 as Saskatchewan Manufacturing Week to celebrate the significant contributions of the manufacturing sector to the province’s economy.
Saskatchewan’s manufacturing sector makes up over five percent of the province’s gross domestic product (GDP) and employs 29,000 people across the province. Last year, manufacturing shipments totalled $13.4 billion. For every dollar invested in manufacturing, an economic spin-off of three times is generated in the provincial economy.
At the SIEC, we celebrate Manufacturing week by highlighting our Spotlight on Careers events exploring the Manufacturing & Mining sectors. Join us for a Virtual Scavenger Hunt of Crestline Coach Ltd., a global leader in ambulance and specialty vehicle manufacturing and a Canadian supplier of small to mid-sized buses. With safety, innovation and durability always at the forefront of their business, Crestline exceeds and inspires today’s industry standards. Since 1975, Crestline’s growth has accelerated from three Canadian founders to over 200 diverse employees, shipping to more than 33 countries worldwide.
Participate any time to learn more about manufacturing in Saskatchewan and for the opportunity to win prizes!
We will also explore exciting and in-demand careers at our Virtual Spotlight on Mining Career Pathways Panel on Thursday, November 25 at 6:30 PM. Register now for this live event and hear from a representative from the Saskatchewan Mining Association, Women in Mining/Women in Nuclear (WIM/WiN), and industry professionals sharing their career journeys.
